Creating the Centerpiece of Your Altar

“I’m a being no longer living in fear of what I am, but ready and willing to do what I was put on this earth to do. Surely, I’ll be knocked down to the ground… Many times have I trembled in the face of what is to come. But each challenge I face simply strengthens me and readies me for the next great obstacle that amusingly tries to stand in my way.

I am not perfect, no far from it… But I no longer hide in shame of my flaws, rather, I let them them guide me into the next stage of my life. All that I am, I wear proudly as a badge of honor.

I live, I love, I breathe, I AM”

This is the current centerpiece of my altar. It's a simple reminder to be the best I can be and give my all on a daily basis.

Some days, as I’m sure you have experienced, it’s easier to have a positive mindset than others. But your centerpiece should be whatever you want it to be.

It could any of the following:

• An inspirational quote from someone you admire
• Something you’ve written
• Money
• Success
• Positivity

Ultimately, it can be anything you choose. It’s your life; prioritize it accordingly.

Manifestation Tools to Include in Your Altar

Along with what you want to manifest, there are several tools available to you at your disposal:

• Crystals
• Sage
• Palo Santo
• Candles
• Incense
• The elements of Feng Shui

Each of these tools can balance and strengthen your spiritual wellbeing and help you actualize your potential.

One thing to keep in mind is your religious artifacts as well. Many people will tell you to leave religion out of your altar. But, my philosophy is to be quick to accept where religion is right and be just as quick to determine where it is wrong.

If it brings you peace, put it on your altar! Don’t listen to the judgements of other people; it’s your life.

Best Crystals for Your Altar

Everyone is different and you can choose whatever crystals work for you to display on your altar. But, here are some of my favorites...

Amethyst

An Amethyst Geode is one of the most powerful crystals you can have on your altar and in your home in general.

Amethyst is has an amazing amount of beneficial properties. For example, it does all of this and more:

• Connects us to the divine
• Promotes a calming sense of wellbeing
• Repels negativity
• Promotes healthy spiritual practices
• And it has a plethora of other positive benefits as well

Think of it as a spiritual health energy generator! Make sure the amethyst you purchase is good quality so that you can be sure to get all of these benefits from it.

Clear Quartz

Clear Quartz is a powerhouse energizer crystal that magnifies the effects of intentions and the positive effects of crystals.

It also keeps your other crystals clean in between smudging. You can program your quartz crystal to do anything, so choose wisely.

Serpentine

While Serpentine isn’t the world’s most popular crystal, it is my favorite after Amethyst.

It is the Stone of Life Force Energy, therefore, it can reignite the primal fire in your belly which can empower you to do ANYTHING!

When I work with Serpentine, I balance it on the top of my head, breathe in its healing energy, and exhale all negativity from within me.

Once I feel the serpent energy from the base of my spine rise up to the top of my head, I know I’m ready to live life on my own terms that day.

Sage & Palo Santo to Improve the Space

The burning of sage removes all negative energy from your space as well as any energetic heaviness you may feel in your home. Palo Santo brings positivity into the space.

Here are some tips to help you use Sage and Palo Santo effectively:

• Trust your intuition to tell you when you need to cleanse the energy, but as a general rule of thumb, once a week should do just fine.
• Make sure you cleanse your crystals with the sage smoke as well. Not only does it reignite their energy with your specific intention, but it also keeps your manifestation practice and spiritual wellbeing as a priority in your mind.
• The smoke of Palo Santo is best to do after burning sage. Sage cleanses the space and brings it to energetic neutral, while the “Holy Wood” smoke of Palo Santo fills the space with a positive, uplifting energy.

Incorporating Feng Shui in Your Altar

Feng Shui is an Ancient Chinese belief system that deserves some serious research and implementation.

But when it comes to your altar, all you really need to remember is to incorporate the 4 Elements:

• Earth
• Air
• Fire
• Water

Earth

Crystals technically count as the first and “fifth” element in Feng Shui because of their connection to the Earth, but also because they move the “Chi” or “Life Energy” throughout the space.

That's why if you just have an intention and crystals on your altar, you’re in pretty solid shape. Including the other elements, however, is ideal and will provide you with even more healing benefits.

Water

In my altar, I have an oil diffuser which disperses essential oils and water into the air.

You might add a fountain to include the water element of Feng Shui and promote peace and balance in your life.

Air & Fire

The practice of burning Sage and Palo Santo in your altar includes Earth, Air, and Fire.

If you want to go the extra mile, burning candles and incense can be a powerful addition to your space.

The more you include Feng Shui in your altar and life, the more harmony you will experience.

Implementing Your Ritual

Now that you've got your altar created, all that’s left is to implement a sacred ritual into your life that will allow you to utilize your altar and activate your manifestation powers. Only you will know how to do that best.

Here are some ideas for a morning ritual and evening ritual based on what I do:

My Morning Ritual

• Take 5 or 10 minutes in the morning to meditate on your intention.
• Diffuse essential oils in a diffuser or burn Sage & Palo Santo as needed.
• Meditate at your altar.

My Evening Ritual

• Light some candles & incense to keep your spiritual wellbeing active.
• This helps get you in the right mindset to actualize your potential and achieve a state of consciousness that is larger than just my own personal ego.

I find that I get more soothing and relaxing benefits from my altar at night and more energizing benefits during the day.
