Diet & Crystal Chakra Pairing: Using Food & Crystals to Balance & Heal Our Energy
INSIDE: There are many ways to balance and heal our chakras, but two of our favorite ways is with crystals and food. So why not combine the two? Let's discover the crystal and diet chakra pairings that can work for you!
We are all made up of energy. Everything we touch and see is composed of energy that is constantly changing and flowing. Chakras are the centers of energy in the body and there are 7 main ones:
- Root Chakra: Located at the base of the spine
- Sacral Chakra: Located in the lower abdomen
- Throat Chakra: Located in the throat
- Solar Plexus Chakra: Located in the upper abdomen
- Third Eye Chakra: Located on the forehead in between the eyes
- Heart Chakra: Located in the center of the chest
- Crown Chakra: Located at the top of the head
It’s not uncommon for one or more chakras to become blocked, restricting the flow of energy in the body, leading to physical, mental, and emotional disruptions.
Fortunately, we can heal and rebalance these energies with the correct diet, chakra, and healing crystal combinations.
Chakra Pairings for Energy Healing: How to Combine Healing Crystals & Diet
We are what we eat, and the foods we choose to put into our bodies affect how we think, feel, and perform. That’s why switching to a plant-based diet is one of the best ways to promote healing and prevent illness. Yet, we often overlook diet when it comes to balancing and healing internal energy.
Let’s explore the different ways to pair healing crystals with a balanced diet to promote energy balance and healing in the seven chakras...
The root chakra is the first main energy center of the body. It connects us to the earth and our surroundings. Unfortunately, it is also the chakra that is most likely to experience weakness or blockages.
This chakra controls our fight or flight response and supports our foundation, feet, and legs. Imbalances in the root chakra can lead to digestive issues, leg and foot pain, and emotional disturbances, particularly feelings of fear, loneliness, and insecurity.
The root chakra is associated with the color red, so red foods are an excellent choice for promoting balance and healing here. Red berries, tomatoes, beets, and red apples are all good options. Root vegetables are also extremely nutritious and excellent for healing root chakra energy.
The sacral chakra is our pleasure and passion center. It governs the emotions, connection with others, intimacy, creativity, and senses. Supporting balance in the sacral chakra helps you pursue your passions, develop deep relationships, and express your creativity.
On the other hand, imbalances in the sacral chakra can lead to commitment issues, lack of confidence and drive, depression, and stifled creativity. It can lead to physical issues such as back pain and reproductive or urinary issues.
The sacral chakra is associated with orange, so choose orange foods like peaches, sweet potatoes, and carrots to promote healing. Omega-3 foods are also a good choice, including nuts, seeds, avocados, and olive oil.
The sacral chakra is associated with the water element, so be sure to stay well hydrated. Coral and orange carnelian are excellent healing stones to pair with the sacral chakra, as well.
The solar plexus chakra represents our personal power. It influences our willpower, purpose, and general goals. This chakra is governed by action and ambition.
Promoting balance in this chakra leads to increased confidence, self-control, and inner peace. Physically, the third chakra supports the pancreas, liver, stomach, and spleen, so blockages in this area can lead to digestive issues.
The solar plexus chakra is represented by yellow, so choose yellow foods for balance and healing. Whole grains are also a good choice because they provide fiber for digestion and complex carbohydrates for sustained energy.
The heart chakra is an energy center for love, compassion, and joy for the self and others. It opens us up to relationships and influences our feelings of self worth.
Physically, the heart chakra supports the arms, shoulders, hands, upper torso, lungs, and of course, the heart. Imbalances can lead to anger, poor digestion, low energy, fear, anxiety, low self-esteem, and heart problems.
Green foods balance and heal the heart chakra with essential nutrition, so prioritize green juice, smoothies, and salads. Leafy and cruciferous vegetables of all types benefit the heart chakra.
Imbalances in the throat chakra may lead to blockages in communication or misunderstandings. Physically, the throat chakra supports the teeth, jaw, throat, and neck. Therefore, blockages may lead to neck and shoulder pain, swollen glands, and sinus issues.
Blue is associated with the throat chakra, so you’ll want to eat more blue foods, such as blueberries and blackberries, to promote balance here. These foods are also full of valuable vitamins, antioxidants, and fiber. Liquids that heal the throat are also beneficial, such as herbal tea with lemon or coconut water.
The third eye chakra is the center of all wisdom. When your sixth chakra is balanced, you’ll be focused and trust your own intuition.
Third eye energy is influenced by our ability to grow and desire to learn, therefore imbalances can lead to a lack of purpose or direction. Physically, the third eye chakra supports the eyes, ears, and frontal sinuses. That means, blockages can lead to sleep issues, balance and coordination issues, blurred vision, and tension headaches.
Purple foods are beneficial for this chakra, so prioritize things like purple grapes, purple cabbage, purple kale, and eggplant. These foods are also considered brain foods, so they support focus and clear an overworked mind.
The crown chakra, or seventh chakra, represents knowledge, spirituality, truth, and oneness. This is a highly spiritual chakra that connects us to the world around us and our inner selves. Its focus is on understanding, joy, and wisdom, and it radiates energies related to gratitude, trust, faith, and peace.
Blockages in the crown chakra can lead to feelings of insignificance, disconnection, and confusion. Physically, imbalances can also lead to light sensitivity, depression, and chronic headaches.
Interestingly, balancing the crown chakra is more about fasting and cleansing than it is about eating the right foods. Flushing out toxins through detoxification boosts energy and clears the mind.
Yoga and meditation are excellent practices for healing and balance in the crown chakra. Consider aiding your meditation practice with Quartz to support crown chakra energy.
Healing and balancing the chakras with crystals and a balanced diet is a fantastic way to heal your energy field and promote wellbeing in the mind, body, and spirit. It’s an excellent way to be proactive about caring for your physical and mental health.
